School Street Steward – online course is designed to improve safety outside schools during drop-off and pick-up times. Developed at the request of a Local Authority and School board in Devon, the course equips stewards with the necessary skills to facilitate temporary road closures effectively. The aim is to reduce the risk of accidents and incidents, promoting a safer environment for students, parents, and staff.

Participants will learn about road safety, traffic management, and the correct use of signage and equipment. By completing this course, School Street Stewards will be able to confidently manage temporary school road closures, ensuring the safety of all those involved in school transport.
